Alan Marsden anchors CBS 12 News at 6:30 and The Eleven O’clock News.  He entered the television business in 1981 as the last ever projectionist (yes, film was still being used) at a television station in Salt Lake City. Alan moved on to positions as studio camera operator and master control operator before eventually deciding to pursue a career in front of the camera.

After graduating from the University of Utah, Alan landed his first reporter job at KRNV in Reno, Nevada in 1993.  Since then he has held positions in Yuma, Arizona, Salinas, California, Sacramento and here in the Chico/Redding area.

Alan and his wife have been married for over 20 years.  They have two teenage children, a girl and a boy.
