Debbie has more than 25 years of news journalism experience. Her first exposure to news was interning with KCRA TV 3 in Sacramento. Debbie also wrote for the newspaper at her Jr. College and did radio work in the 80'S at KPAY in Chico and KNVR in Paradise. She started off as a full-time investigative television reporter on the crime beat at KHSL TV and worked her way through anchoring the weekend news and then eventually to anchoring Monday through Friday evenings.

Debbie took a year off to be with her husband and two small children. She is now working part-time anchoring and producing the weekend evening news and spends more time with her family. Debbie is one of the most recognized and respected journalists in the North State with a reputation for digging out the facts and presenting news in a fair and balanced way.

A graduate of California State University, Chico, Debbie has a BA in Broadcast Journalism. Debbie is active in the Chico Community. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Chico Friends of the Library and previously on the Board of Directors for Salvation Army and Ident-A-Child.

Debbie has received a number of awards during her career including Reporter of the Year from the Butte County Farm Bureau and 2006 Media Partner of the Year by the Butte County Farm Bureau. She was also among an esteemed group of women voted ‘2005 Woman of the Year’ by Beta Theta Kappa Chaper at Butte College and has been recognized for her work by the California Highway Patrol. Debbie has also taken an active role over the years as a mentor to high school students.

Debbie chose to stay in Chico for two simple reasons.. the people and the quality of life in Northern California.

She has written two children’s books Gracie’s Big Adventure With Augustine the Beaver and Gracie’s Big Adventure With the Misfits. She hopes you and the children in your life will enjoy them.
