Despite program cuts and budget woes...nobody in the Blue Room Young Company is singing the blues .
"I think theater is a very important art form...it unites people and it's fun."
Lara Tenckhoff is directing 37 young actors in this performance. The group will put on three shows...one of them is open to the public. And for these young starlets...it's their chance to shine.
Nicholas Hoover, the King of Hearts, says, "it's fun...it's challenging...it's exciting.
Sarah Krulder, the White Rabbit, says, "I like acting because it kind of gives you a challenge...it's fun.
You might think it's a challenge for this young director to organize a production with close to 40 students....but Tenckhoff says its exactly the opposite.
"they're all very creative kids...I learn a lot from them."
And the actors, ages 6 to 18 are learning as well.
Jessie Imhoff, the Cheshire cat, says, "you learn new things and you can teach other people when you grow up."
So don't be late...late...for this very important date....because you're sure to enjoy the show, as the kids transport you through the looking glass... and leave you to wonder....where these young actors will end up.
Tenckhoff says, "to watch how they grow, change, hit milestones, make connections, it's so fulfilling.
