Kim Peterson has been a cheerleader for two years...but she's been moving and shaking a lot longer than that.
Her Mother Susan says, "she's been singing and dancing since she was two years old to Barney..."
And now all that effort is paying off. Kim is the only cheerleader in Butte County who will be marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Kim says, "we always watch it, I've always said I want to be in it...one more year I decided to do it".
Tiffany says, "I'm so excited for her..."
Her friend Tiffany has been cheering with kim for the past two years.
Tiffany says, "we're like peanut butter and jelly...best friends since sixth grade"
Dancing is more than just a hobby for this sixteen-year-old.
Kim says, "you let out so much, dancing, it's just fun...just an easy way to let everything go and I'm just so comfortable doing it"
And she plans to stick with it.
Kim says, "my goal is to be on Broadway"
But for now, she's thrilled to be dancing down the streets of Manhattan.
Susan says, "we've always wanted to go...since she was a little girl"
Kim says, "every year we watch the parade and we see cheerleaders and dancers...I'm going to be in that parade, I'm gonna dance...it was just unbelievable"
