A busy Chico intersection Friday looked more like a destruction derby after two serious crashes within a few hours a part.
The intersection of Forest and Notre Dame avenues became ground zero for both crashes. The first happened just before 11 a.m. when two SUV's collided head-on. That crash sent one to the hospital with moderate injuries. Traffic in that area was tied up for about 45 minutes.
Four hours later, two more cars crashed at that same intersection. Two people were sent to the hospital to be treated for minor to moderate injuries. Investigators are still sorting out what lead to each of the crashes.
