Chico Police tonight are investigating another mid-day home invasion robbery.

This time two gunman burst inside a home and tie up two people inside just after 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Police say this latest crime is another in a string of similar home invasion robberies during the past few weeks and marijuana appears to be a common denominator.

Investigators tell Action News that two black men in their twenties crashed through the front door of a 10th Street home and held the two residents, a man and a woman, at gun point.

Investigators say it appears the gunman were after marijuana.
The pair were bound up while the robbers ransacked the home, taking cash, a gun, marijuana and lap top computers.

The man was apparently hit by one of the gunman though he was not seriously hurt. Within minutes, the attackers were gone and the residents called 9-1-1 after they freed themselves.

'Police are not saying how much marijuana was taken or whether the pot at the home was for medical use. Either way, officers say, having marijuana at your home ... medicinal or not ... is bound to attract criminals.

Detectives are looking into whether this home invasion is connected to a string of recent robberies, including the Roseleaf Court home invasion in July that terrorized a family.

Police say, in that case, the crooks apparently targeted the wrong home.
