Chico Police Officers have converged at the Tri Counties Bank on Pillsbury Road.

The call came in about 1:45 this afternoon. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man about 40 years old, 5-foot 8 and 250 to 300 pounds.

Police say he stood in line and when it was his turn he went up to the teller and asked for change. He put a bag on the counter, said it was a robbery and asked for more money.

There were conflicting reports of which direction he went. Some witnesses say he fled to the Almond Orchard Plaza, others say he fled toward the 'Grocery Outlet'.

The initial reports indicates the teller did not see a weapon. There's no word on how much money was taken.
