It's an exciting time for food lovers in the North State; Chico Restaurant Week. Eight days dedicated to supporting local eateries, and the local growers that supply them. "We really wanted to promote the idea of dining locally, and many of the Chico Restaurant Week participants are big proponents of farm to table dining, and they support local farmers, local ranchers," according to Event Director Valerie Redemann.
From steak to sushi, seven of Chico's most popular restaurants will be offering deals on some of their favorite menu items. Redemann says "there are fixed menu prices. There are three course dinners for either $21, $31, or $41, and two course lunches for $11." Restaurants participating in the event include Sierra Nevada, Fifth Street Steak House, Grana, Sicilian Cafe, the Red Tavern, Crush, and Rawbar. Owners we caught up, like Jeffrey King from Grana, say they're looking forward to a full week of new faces, and good food. "It's a great opportunity for us, not only to have return customers be able to enjoy a fixed menu like this, but also possibly gain some new customers."
But the event, put on by the Synthesis, isn't just good news for restaurants, and customers, it's also a great way to give back to a worthy cause. "Chico Restaurant Week benefits 'Chico Eat, Learn, Grow.' So, one dollar of every meal is donated to this great organization," according to Redemann.
