More budget problems at Chico State where majors and masters programs are being suspended.
In total 14 programs at the school have been suspended due to lack of funding. Half are in the Fine Arts and Communication departments.
School officials say all the suspended majors had enrollment was so small keeping them alive did not make financial sense.
"The result is they're costly to operate and when you have fewer resources, you put those resources behind the programs that do have a lot of student demand," said Phyllis Fernlund, Dean of the CSUC College of Communication
The students currently in the suspended majors will be allowed to graduate, but no new students will be admitted.
The hope is the programs can be restored when the budget gets better.
