Redding Police say one of the drivers involved in a crash near the Downtown Post Office has died.
A Geo Metro was broadsided by a Saturn just before 5 p.m. Thursday, at the intersection of Oregon and Placer Streets.
A police officer happened to be in the area and witnessed the crash.
CPR was performed at the scene on the driver of the Geo Metro but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
His name has not yet been released.
The driver of the Saturn, 59-year-old Lynn Kester of Redding was taken to the hospital with a broken arm.
Investigators are still looking into whether drugs and alcohol were a factor in the crash.
