Friday morning, crews were busy getting ready for the fireworks show at Friday's Chico Outlaws game. Workers set up behind the scoreboard at Nettleton Stadium. It takes 3 hours to set up the 300 mortars needed for the 12 minute show.
Karen Blood is the fireworks show coordinator. She knows what fans like. "I think people like to see the difference of colors. We try to mix them up and make sure we don't get the same color twice. We have specialty shells that make crunching sounds and have tails that go up and they just enjoy the oooh's and ahhh's of it all."
For the first time, some Outlaws fans will see the fireworks from the field. The team sold tickets in foul territory on the field, a great vantage point for the game and for the fireworks.
If you missed Friday's fireworks at Nettleton Stadium, Saturday night fireworks will be fired off from the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico.
