Chico Police say a fight at a Chestnut Street apartment Wednesday afternoon turned violent when one of the men stabbed another before fleeing on foot.
Investigators say it appears that shortly before 2 p.m., two men came the apartment for some reason and that's when a fight broke out. In addition to the stabbing victim, a friend of the victim was punched in the face.
Police say they believe they know the suspect and that they expect to track him down soon.
The victim, in his early 20s, was stabbed once and is expected to survive.
