Refinery problems and a pipeline closure have suddenly sent gasoline prices soaring in California, even as they fall in most of the country.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas jumped five-cents overnight to hit $4.23 a gallon.
We caught up with Paradise resident Kathy Baeza as she was filling-up. She said, "We're impressed actually with how much it costs because it has gone up 10-cents in the last week and we expected closer to the election it would drop."

The cheapest gas in Redding Thursday could be found at the ARCO stations on Lake Boulevard, Bechelli Lane and Cascade Boulevard where it's selling for $4.05 a gallon.
However you can find gas locally as high as $4.69 a gallon. ###
