California Governor Jerry Brown paid a visit to the Colusa Farm Show.
He spoke at the annual Alumni Breakfast this morning, accompanied State Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross.
Dressed in a flannel shirt and jeans, the governor mentioned his ties to the north state and spoke about his family's property just west of Williams.
He also touched on issues within the ag industry, including water rights, "If salt water intrudes on that Delta, half the water in Santa Clara County could be gone in a matter of weeks. It'd be devastating economically. So we need a secure, reliable supply. At the same time we got to have protections for the counties of origin that have your rights."
Governor Brown wrapped up his trip with a quick tour of the fairgrounds and took time to speak with some of the vendors.
Event organizers say this is the first time in the 48 years the farm show has been running that the state's governor has made an appearance.##
