North State job seekers have a new resource.
The Cleantech Training Center in Oroville opened its doors Monday.
The newly renovated 42,000 square foot building is a partnership between local private and public employers. It will offer classes in a variety of green industries including how to weatherize a home or install solar panels.
Organizers say they hope that these skills will give local workers a leg up in the new green economy.
"It gives people a new skill-set, especially one that is going to get them into jobs that are available now and in the future. Because energy conservation is certainly a growing concern and of growing interest," said Tom Tenorio, Director of the Butte County Community Action Agency.
The center will start offering a limited selection of classes on Tuesday. For more information you can email the center at cic@ncen.org or visit them at 2015 Challenger Drive in Oroville.
