Gun owners are keeping a close eye on the gun control debate that continues on Capitol Hill.
President Barack Obama unveiled a plan Wednesday asking Congress to pass a ban on military-style assault rifles, limit the size of magazines to 10 rounds or less and create a federal background check process for all firearm sales.
In announcing his policy the president also issued 23 executive orders addressing gun education plans, the disclosure of mental health issues for background check databases and also asking the CDC to research the causes of gun violence.
