After less than five hours of deliberation a Butte County Jury found a Magalia man Guilty of murdering his father.
The panel delivered its verdict Friday afternoon, finding Christopher McCarty committed First Degree Murder when he shot and killed Michael McCarty in 2011.
This was McCarty's second trial. The first ended in a mistrial last October with a deadlocked jury.
McCarty faces 50 years to life in prison when he is sentenced next month. ###
