A Butte County jury will resume deliberations Monday in the case of a Magalia man charged with murdering his father.
Deliberations in the case of 32 year-old Christopher McCarty got underway at 8:30 Friday morning.
But the panel failed to reach a verdict before breaking for the weekend.
Prosecutors say McCarty shot his father Michael to death in August of last year.
They say it happened during an argument about McCarty using his dad's car.
The defense argued that prosecutors failed to prove the shooting was intentional.
McCarty faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted. ###
