The search for a home invasion robbery suspect ended in a destructive car crash in Oroville Thursday afternoon. The home invasion robbery was reported in Forbestown early Thursday morning. Little information has been released about that. But a pickup truck stolen in that robbery was spotted by police around 4:30 Thursday afternoon near Olive Highway and Foothill Blvd.

The driver sped off and police gave chase but the pursuit ended just two miles later when the truck smashed into a utility pole at 2365 Oro-Quincy Highway. That caused the wires to arc starting a fire in a vacant home. The suspect was arrested a few blocks away.  His name has not been released. Fire to the home was reportedly contained in one wall. There were no injuries reported.
