January 21st is the day when people across the country and here in the north state honor civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This ceremony took place at the Paradise United Methodist Church and was put on by Paradise Center for Tolerance and Nonviolence. Half an hour before the program a candlelight walk was held. Entertainment at the event included songs from the civil rights movement performed by the church choir and musical production students from Paradise High also performed. Guests were invited to gather after the program for light refreshments.
