Paradise Police made an arrest Friday in the February 14th hit and run incident that left a 73-year-old pedestrian dead. Myron Bolstad was killed as he was leaving Paradise Alliance Church on that Thursday evening when he was struck and killed by a car. There were no witnesses and police had few leads to go on.
But early Friday morning, acting on a tip, officers located a blue, 1998 Mercury Mistique with front end damage parked at a business on the 7000 block of Skyway. They say evidence recovered at the crime scene, matches the car found Friday morning.
Officers tracked down the registered owner of the car, 56-year-old Timothy McCollum and arrested him for manslaughter and felony hit and run. He was booked into the Butte County Jail. Bail is set at $160,000 dollars.
