Federal drug agents teamed up with the Butte County Sheriff's Department Wednesday to serve search warrants at 11 properties in the Palermo and Forest Ranch areas.
During the raids agents seized 967 marijuana plants weighing more than 17,000 pounds.
Officers estimate the marijuana had a street value of $34.2 million.
Deputies believe the people managing the gardens were using Proposition 215 to disguise commercial marijuana grows.
One of the growers we spoke with Wednesday said that isn't the case and called the raids "unfair."
