Really quiet. That's the word from the polling places in Butte County this afternoon.
Today's runoff election between Republican Jim Nielsen of Gerber and Democrat Mickey Harrington of Magalia is not expected to be a big draw for voters. The two are running for the 4th District State Senate seat. The senate seat was left vacant when Doug LaMalfa ran for and won the seat in Congress left vacated by Congressman Wally Herger.
Our cameras were at 'Our Devine Saviour' Catholic Church on East Lassen Avenue today and only 10 people had voted by noon.  Butte County Clerk Candace Grubbs is predicting a 15-percent voter turnout today. She's encouraging people to at least return their absentee ballots at polling places, as it is still an important election.
Polls close at 8pm tonight. Voting results should be released by Action News at 11 tonight.
