If you're looking to cash in on your valuables or you just want to see how much a family heirloom is worth then you might want to check out the Treasure Hunters Roadshow in Red Bluff.
“We travel to various cities and we are buying scrap gold, sterling silver, pocket watches, currency, military, items, small antique collectibles,” says the show’s manager Kelley Ensor.
She also says people often don't realize what they have or how much it is worth.
“Any kind of scrap gold any kind of jewelry that you have in your drawer that you haven't used for the last couple of years, is a treasure chest, we've paid a lot of electric bills and mortgages and car payments with items that are just sitting in a drawer,” says Ensor
Red Bluff resident Alexa Bryson was at the show Tuesday with her antique hand bag collection.
“I've been care taking for these for quite some time and I have an abundance of so many things I'm thinking of paring down my collections,” says Bryson.
One of her purses was worth $2,500 but she decided she wasn't ready to part with it just yet.
As long as I was there I figured I would check out the appraisal process first hand by having some of my old coins looked at.
The price of my coins didn't come anywhere near Bryson's hand bag. They were worth about $88 and I too decided to hold on to them.
Treasure hunter's is a tv show but that's just a small part of their operation. Ensor says at any given time there will be 100 teams putting on these shows across the country.
The red bluff show won't become an episode but it is free and open to the public.
One of the best things about the treasure hunters road show is that you can bring as much as you want and get it all appraised for free and possibly even walk away with a check.
The treasure hunter's road show is at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Red Bluff. It runs Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and on Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
