It's called "The World Cafe" and it brings together hundreds of high school students and community leaders.
The event took place Friday at the Richard Springs Convention Center North of Chico.
The discussions here focus on big issues like bullying, and underage drinking ... but they happen at small, "cafe-like" tables.
It's part of the annual "Youth Development Summit" that brings members of Friday Night Live Clubs from all over the North State, and some from out of the area.
Students learn about leadership , and are encouraged to share what they've learned with others in their school community.
We asked some of the participants what they came away with from the World café.
Pleasant Valley High School 9th Grader Hannah Sealey said, " Just to ... how to like help prevent bullying, how to stop underage drinking and how to have our school climate become better.
Autumn Vega, an 11th Grader at Ridgeview High School said, "It's really interesting about how many people have ideas you could use to help prevent bullying and isolation."
"We're not gonna be able to move forward without working together", said Butte County Juvenile Hall Counselor Joe Person, Jr. He added, "Young people need us and we need them and that's what I'm taking away from it. Don't discount what the youth can do."
Action News Anchor Linda Watkins-Bennett is among the community leaders who take part in this event, this is her 10th year as a matter of fact.
Others include representatives from education, law enforcement, business, the medical field, faith-based groups and youth organizations.###
