This week's Balbutin's Chico Pharmacy Tennis Classic at the Chico Racquet Club sports players from all over the world trying to work their way up the USTA rankings.
Action Sports caught up with one of the favorites who's more than happy to be making a tennis stop in the North State.
For Adam Feeney, living the life of a professional tennis player is something he cherishes.
Adam Feeney says, "to be able to come around to these different tournaments, different places in the world and to meet all these fantastic people in the states is pretty rare."
And what might be more rare for Feeney is what's happening in his home land of Australia right now. Most Aussies would love to be back home as Mother Nature is providing them with something they haven't seen in a long time, but not Feeney, he's just happy to be playing tennis despite the blazing North State temperature.
Feeney adds, "Australia has been in a drought for the last couple years actually and every time i speak to family back home now, the last three weeks it's just been raining every day so it's actually pretty good for us back there but i prefer to be in the sun and i'm happy to be here."
feeney is currently ranked as the 355th best singles tennis player in the world, and in order for him to climb the rankings, it's all about playing more consistent, something he notices from top ranked players like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Feeney says, "I feel like a lot of us can actually play at that level, but not for very long so it's just a matter of being able to play at that level, week in, week out, game after game, and that's what Federer and Nadal do every game."
And as the highest ranked player still standing in this Chico tennis tournament, this 24 year old has a good chance to improve his ranking with a first place finish, and if that happens, look out downtown, an Aussie might coming your way.
Feeney says, "I haven't had much chance to hit up the bar scene yet but I heard that's what's pretty good and what it's well known for being a college town, but we'll have to see what happens I guess for the rest of the tournament."
