It may be five days away, but the biggest game of the season in Northern California Junior College football takes place this Saturday at Cowan Stadium.

The Butte Roadrunners will host perennial power and longtime nemesis City College of San Francisco.

Action Sports Ross Field caught up with the Runners today as they prepare for their biggest test of the season to date.

Butte is 5-0 and ranked number one in the state. City College of San Francisco is also 5-0 and ranked number three in the state. This Saturday when these two powerhouses meet on the football field, something has to give.

Butte Head Coach Jeff Jordan says, "we're just excited, when you get two teams in the top of the country it should be a great day on Saturday and we're looking forward to it. They have a really good ball club and hopefully we do too and we're going to find that out on saturday."

Behind Head Coach Jeff Jordan, the Roadrunners have won eighteen straight games including a 28-14 victory over City College of San Francisco on the road last year.

This season, Butte gets to play the Rams at home giving the Roadrunners a slight edge heading into Saturday's match-up.

Butte Quarterback Jordan Rodgers says, "it's great, you know get them out of their comfort zone, out of their environment, kind of up here hopefully it's a little warmer for them and we got real grass up here so I think it's really an advantage to us."

Regardless of whose favored, the rankings, or the records at hand, when these two teams meet, the quality of football escalates and fans should see some extrememly talented players on both sides of the ball.

Jeff Jordan adds, "every time that we get together with them, there's gonna be about twenty plus kids that end up going on to Division One football and possibly beyond so it's always makes it exciting when we do play City College of San Francisco and this year shouldn't be any different."

Butte Offensive Lineman Andrew Gomez says, "two teams 5-0, nothing more could you ask for, it's just going to be a big showdown and we're going to go out there and show them what we can do and show the country that we should be ranked number one all throughout the season."

And as you can see Butte wouldn't want it any other way.
