For three years at the high school level, Anthony and James Williams have terrorized opponents on the football field as members of the Enterprise Hornets.
This year, as a Senior, Wide Receiver James has been forced to play cheerleader thanks to an annoying knee injury. In the meantime, twin brother, Anthony, the Quarterback is doing his best to help his team and his brother overcome his absence on the football field
One is on the field leading his team in practice and on game days. The other is strolling the sidelines, dejected, but still managing to route on his twin brother and the Enterprise Hornets.
James Williams says, "its just a bad thing where I know I can't get out there and do anything."
James Williams, a Wide Receiver, has always had visions of catching passes from his brother during their Senior year, but those visions were permanently intercepted last spring when James re-aggravated a torn meniscus running track.
James Williams says, "in track season, you could fell it not doing as good as it wanted to so you know I think I rushed it too fast coming back in four weeks and then I tore it again on the section jump that put me into state but I tore it on that jump so it really didn't do me no good."
While James is doing everything he can to get healthy, Anthony has quietly led the Hornets to a 3-0 record. Nobody has been a bigger supporter than James but Anthony wishes his favorite target was out there to help contribute physically.
Anthony Williams says, "you don't know how bad it sucks until it actually happens. Like we never thought we weren't going to be playing together our senior year. We may have joked about it like 'ha-ha' and now its here, it just sucks you know not playing with him."
As the season rolls on, James will continue to rehab his knee and at least if he can't make it back for football, he'll have some more sports to look forward to participating with his brother.
James Williams says, "if I could come out here for football it would be great, I want to come out here for football you know but you never know what happens. I'm banking on basketball you know for this season I'm excited, its going to be a good season. We're going to have a good season for football too, so its going to be a good season overall for all the sports, track, basketball and football."
A great attitude despite having to endure this unfortunate circumstance.
