A 60-year-old Los Molinos woman is behind bars, accused of starting the Coffin Fire in Trinity County.  Brenda Eitzen is held without bail.  Authorities say she started the Coffin Fire Wednesday afternoon, when she discarded a cigarette.  One firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling that blaze.  Eitzen will be charged with recklessly starting a fire that burned inhabited property.  She appears in court Friday afternoon..

The Coffin fire has now burned 1,500 acres southwest of Lewiston and is 50% contained.  All evacuation orders have been lifted with the exception of Fawn Lodge Road which remains under a mandatory evacuation.

Residents can learn more about the Coffin Fire at a fire information meeting Friday night at 7pm at the Lewiston Elementary School Gymnasium.
