Chico police are searching for two men who violently attacked and raped a 24-year-old woman on a bike path early Friday morning.
The attack happened around 2:45 a.m. on a path that connects the Chico State campus to the 500 block of Nord Avenue.
Police say the woman, who recently graduated from Chico State, was walking home with friends when she got seperated from the group.
While she walking alone, two black men approached her and starting talking to her, then threw her on the ground. Police say one of the men raped her while the other held her down.
Police say they do not think the rape is connected to a series of robberies that took place along the bike path earlier this year.
Several suspects were arrested in connection to those crimes.
Police say they will increase patrols along the bike path in hopes of catching the suspects and to prevent future attacks.
Suspect Descriptions:
-Two black men 20 to 25 years old
-One is 5'8, 150 pounds
-One is 6'1, 175 pounds
-Short, black and brown curly hair
