Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones says the Cal Poly student who drowned in the Sacramento River during the Labor Day Float was heavily intoxicated and had recently used cocaine.
The autopsy results ... Released Tuesday ... confirmed that 20-year-old Brett Olson died of an accidental drowning.
Olson was the subject of a massive search when he disappeared while tubing down the Sacramento River September 2, 2012.
His body was located by a fisherman almost a week later.
Sheriff Jones met with Olson's parents in Fairfield to deliver the cause of death findings before they were made public.
The investigation into Olson's death is now closed.###
