Drug agents say a new form of methamphetamine has made its way to the North State.
Paradise Police arrested a pair of transients who they say were using the "shake and bake" method of manufacturing the drug.
David and Candace Tranah were arrested late Friday night outside the VFW Hall on the Skyway.
Officers say it was clear that David was under the influence of a controlled substance and Candace admitted to having methamphetamine.
Officers found materials used in the "shake and bake method" on the pair.
The process involves mixing volatile ingredients inside 20 ounce soda bottles and letting the mixture sit for a long period of time to produce meth.
"Unfortunately that leaves a very dangerous substance for anybody else to come by and find. This stuff is very, very flammable. It is very explosive. It might even be more dangerous than the traditional method they've been using," Paradise Police Lt. Steve Rowe said.
Police are now cautioning people stay away from discarded bottles that are filled with an off-white solution.
