Chico Firefighters had to use the jaws of life for the second time in two days Wednesday, following another high speed collision.
It happened just before 8:30 a.m. on East Avenue at Cactus Avenue.
Police say a woman driving a Toyota Corolla was turning right onto East Avenue when she was hit by a Toyota Truck.
Sgt. Mike nelson says,"The driver of the Corolla was actually trapped inside the vehicle for a while, she is conscious and was transported to Enloe Medical Center, but it did take the fire department to use the jaws of life to remove her."
The 17-year-old driver of the truck is a student of Pleasant Valley High School who was on his way to school at the time of the accident.
He was not hurt.
Witnesses reported he was driving over the speed limit at the time of crash but police are still investigating who was at fault.
Tuesday morning firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free a woman from her car after an accident at Eighth and Ivy Streets. ######
