We are following breaking news this morning after a plane made an emergency landing on Highway 70 in Butte County. It all happened around eight this morning about a mile east of Pentz Road.

The 64-year-old pilot was flying from Susanville to Oroville when his engine died near Quincy. The pilot says that at that point he began looking for a safe place to land... but many of the areas in the mountains were too foggy.

He eventually glided down to Highway 70 where he managed to land without hitting any cars. Traffic is moving is not being impacted by the emergency landing.

There are no reported injuries. The plane has tail number N9554J, and is registered to John Schneider in Janesville.
