The suspect in the murder of a Red Bluff teenager appeared before a judge for the first time Wednesday to answer to charges.
39 year Quentin Bealer is charged with murder, burglary, and receiving stolen property.
Security was extra tight in the courtroom for the one o'clock arraignment because of concerns over "vigilante justice."
Bealer is accused of killing 14 year old Marysa Nichols last week near Red Bluff High School.
Autopsy results determined she was strangled.
Authorities are still not commenting on the motive for the crime, and District Attorney Greg Cohen said it's too early in the investigation to determine whether he will seek the death penalty.
Bealer did not enter a plea, he is due back in court for further arraignment on march 12th.##
