In Shasta County, an attempted robbery leads to the shooting of an innocent bystander. The shooter is still on the loose tonight.
It happened around 12:30am at the TA Travel Center off Knighton road.
The Shasta County Sheriff's Office says 22 year-old Darryl Jernigan opened fire on several people during a robbery attempt. A man pumping gas was hit in the leg.
The Sheriff’s Office is not saying how they know Jernigan was the shooter, and deputies were not able to find him after the shooting.
Jernigan is 6’2” with a slim build, he is considered armed and dangerous. Call authorities if you have any information.
