Families flocked to Marsh Junior High in Chico Tuesday to take advantage of the county's dwindling supply of H1N1 vaccine.

Butte County Health officials estimate about 500 students received either a shot or nasal spray containing the swine flu vaccination.

The county's supply of the vaccine is expected to last through Thursday, which is the last scheduled day of swine flu clinics.

Health officials say there are plans to order more vaccine but the county will continue to use its supply on high risk patients, namely children and people with chronic medical conditions.

Healthy adults interested in the vaccine should contact their health care provider.

"We just encourage people to call their provider, call their clinic. Eventually the vaccine will be available in pharmacies. The CDC is telling us there will be plenty of vaccine available for everybody who wants it, it's just a matter of getting those high risk groups vaccinated first," said Brandy Miller, Health Education Specialist.

The last scheduled swine flu clinic in Butte County will be held on Thursday at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico.
