A woman is recovering from her injuries after crashing her SUV into a tree in the front yard of a home in Chico early Tuesday morning. It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the area of Diablo and Ceres avenues. Police say the driver, whose name has not been released, was speeding when she slammed into a tree in the front yard of a house. Emergency crews had to extricate the woman because her legs were pinned in the vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a possible broken leg. Police are investigating the crash to determine whether alcohol played a factor.
