WEST COVINA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a 6-year-old Los Angeles County girl has died after a television set fell on top of her.

Coroner's Lt. Joe Bale says Jasmine Starr Ilgenfritz (ILL'-ghen-fritts) died at a hospital Saturday shortly after the 32-inch TV fell on top of her in her living room in West Covina.

Police Lt. David Rozeboom says the girl was playing with a pair of toddler siblings when the television accidentally dislodged from the table it sat on.

Rozeboom says the children's grandmother who was taking care of them was in the kitchen at the time and no adults saw the incident.

Paramedics rushed the girl to the hospital where she was declared dead.

Rozeboom says investigators found no evidence of foul play.

West Covina is a suburb some 20 miles east of Los Angeles.
