CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada and California congressional delegations have introduced legislation to extend the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act and continue efforts to combat invasive species, reduce wildfire risks and protect the lake's clarity.

Sens. Harry Reid, John Ensign, Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer introduced the measure in the Senate. A companion bill was introduced in the House by Reps. Dean Heller, Shelley Berkley, Dina Titus and Tom McClintock.

The bill authorizes $415 million in federal funding over eight years.
