Recap: Butler vs. Ill-Chicago

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Roosevelt Jones scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as the Butler Bulldogs downed the Illinois-Chicago Flames 69-44 in a Horizon League game at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Ronald Nored added 12 points and eight assists for Butler (18-12, 11-6 Horizon) which has won five straight and six of its last seven. Andrew Smith and Chrishawn Hopkins provided 10 points each.

Gary Talton scored 13 points to lead the Flames (8-19, 3-13) who are now 1-14 on the road this season. Darrin Williams collected 11 points and six rebounds. Hayden Humes also pulled down six boards.

Butler led 32-22 at halftime after shooting 12-of-26 from the floor. Illinois- Chicago was just 8-of-27 from the floor, and just 1-of-10 from long range in the first twenty minutes.

The Flames never got closer than 10 in the second half as the Bulldogs followed up a solid first period with a 13-of-26 performance in the second stanza and shot 48.1 percent from the floor for the game.
