Recap: Austin Peay vs. SE Missouri St
Clarksville, TN (Sports Network) - TyShwan Edmondson scored a game-high 25 points as the Austin Peay Governors defeated the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks in an Ohio Valley Conference battle at the Dunn Center.
Melvin Baker finished with 22 points for APSU (12-19, 8-8 OVC), while John Fraley collected 10 rebounds. The win was the third in a row for the Governors.
Leon Powell recorded a double-double for SEMO (14-15, 9-7) with 16 points and 10 boards. Tyler Stone added 11 points and Marland Smith chipped in 10 points as the Redhawks lost their fourth straight contest.
SEMO took a 25-24 lead into halftime after it shot 45.8 percent from the field in the opening period. The Governors fell behind after they managed to make just 37 percent of their attempts from the floor in the first frame.
APSU dominated the final 20 minutes by shooting 63.2 percent from the field and also by draining 15-of-21 from the free throw line to earn a nine-point victory.
The Governors were much more successful from beyond the arc, as they made 8- of-16 from three-point range. SEMO connected on only two of its 10 three-point attempts.
