Recap: Vanderbilt vs. Georgia

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Josh Jenkins scored 15 points to lead the third-seeded Vanderiblt Commodores who routed the 11th-seeded Georgia Bulldogs 63-41 in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at New Orleans Arena.

Brad Tinsley had 12 points and Festus Ezeli and Lance Goulbourne each chipped in 10 for Vanderbilt (22-10) which will take on seventh-seed Ole Miss in the semifinals.

Dustin Ware was the only player in double figures for Georgia (15-17) with 10 points.

The first half was not indicative of the outcome as Georgia led 25-24 after shooting 45.0 percent from the floor and a paltry 1-for-8 performance from beyond the arc. Vanderbilt was much worse connecting on only 34.6 percent but hit 3-of-13 three point attempts to remain in striking distance.

The Bulldogs kept it close to begin the second half and trailed 36-32 with just under fifteen minutes remaining. The Commodores took control from there ripping off a 23-5 run over the next 11 minutes to lead by 22, 59-37, with 3:19 left on the clock as the coasted to the win.

Georgia outrebounded Vanderbilt 36-32 but the Commodores had a 28-20 edge on points in the paint and also outscored the Bulldogs 14-6 on points off turnovers.
