New York, NY (Sports Network) - Atlanta Braves outfielder Jason Heyward heads up a list of 133 players who will be eligible for salary arbitration, per a Tuesday release from Major League Baseball.
Heyward posted career highs of 27 home runs, 30 doubles, six triples, 82 RBI, and .479 slugging percentage, while participating in 158 games for the Braves last season.
The third-year pro, who finished second in rookie of the year balloting in 2010, holds a career average of .261 with 59 homers, 77 doubles and 196 runs batted in over 428 appearances.
Other notable names who filed for arbitration were Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, Cubs starter Matt Garza, Yankees hurler Phil Hughes, Pirates infielder Garrett Jones, Giants outfielder Hunter Pence and Washington infielder Ian Desmond.
Boston listed nine players, including Ellsbury, as arbitration eligible -- the most for any team.
Players and teams will submit salary figures next week and the arbitration hearings will be held in February.
